Admission Procedure

The admission to 3 year Diploma in Polytechnic is open only to the girls who are state subjects . The Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BPEE) / State Board of Technical Education J&K Govt. does the admissions .The admissions are strictly based on inter-se-merit and counseling. The entry qualification for all the courses is 10th pass with 40% marks for open category and 37% for the reserved category students. There is no age limit prescribed for the admission to this polytechnic. The SBOTE / BPEE invites application for admission to this Polytechnic and other Polytechnics in the month of August every year.

The Institution also admits the students on its own level for non-formal training program under community polytechnic , IRG & TVET schemes.the admissions are done as and when the previous batch completes the courses.

Whenever students are selected for Diploma programme, following procedure of admission is adopted:

  1. Information Brochure/ Prospectus and Admission Form is provided to the students from admission incharge at the cost of Rs.100.
  2. The students are advised to go through the prospectus before filling up the admission form.
  3. The filled in admission form along with following original documents is to be got verified from the concerned head of the department

 

List of documents to be attached:

  1. Date of birth certificate.
  2. Marks certificate of Matriculation.
  3. Scheduled caste/ Backward/ or any other category certificate on which basis selection has been granted.
  4. Eight Passport size photographs.
  5. State-Subject certificate.
  6. Discharge Certificate from the Institution last attended
  7. Affidavit (proforma given below) of Rs.10 with Adhesive stamp of Rs.10
  8. Admit card - BOPEE
  9. Character Certificate

Students are advised to retain sufficient Attested Photo copies of the above said certificate with them as the originals would not be issued to students during their course period.

The admission form after verification along with certificates and requisite admission/ hostel fee (to be deposited in the account section of the Institution under proper receipt) is to be deposited with the admission incharge. The students will be granted admission and issued six digit roll no. which is coded as follows:

  1. First two digits indicate year of admission
  2. Middle two digits indicate branch code
  3. Last two digits indicate admission serial no. in the branch.

For example code of different branches are:

(1) Electronics: 04 (2) Computer: 07 (3) Textile: 13 (4) MOP: 23 (5) MLT: 34

 

Examination Procedure

The institution is affiliated to the J&K state Board of Technical Education .The academic calendar commences after the admissions are over and the students are eligible to appear in the examination conducted by SBOTE after the completion of the academic year . For appearing in the examination the student shall qualify in the internal assessment done by the institution as well as put in more than 75% attendance both in theory as well as in practical components .The examination are conducted by the SBOTE in May - June and Nov-Dec session every year .The carry over pattern is followed to qualify for the next class. For a student to be eligible for 2nd year, she should have qualified 66% papers (both theory & practical) of 1st year .For a student eligible for 3rd year she should have qualified 75% papers of both 1st & 2nd year (both theory & practical) .It is mandatory for a student to be declared qualified for appearing in examination that she should pass in internal assessment of all the subjects.

 

Tentative Schedule of internal tests

1. Internal test - I - after 5 weeks
2. Class tests after 10 weeks
3. Internal test - I - after 15 weeks

The students are required to submit the examination form after first terminal test. Mere filling of examination form does not give the right to the student to appear in the examination & students will be allowed to appear in the final examination after completing all other requisite formalities & statues of SBOTE.

Students Service & Extra Curriculum Activities:

Personal Development, Physical Fitness, Sports & other Activities are important part of education. Extra curriculum activities like sports events, quiz, seminars, debates, NSS & other activities are organized in the Institution & due time is given to such activities in all the semesters.

Students are advised to take part in all such activities. Due weightage of marks has been given in curriculum of students centered activities in all semesters.
