Department of Computer Engineering


The importance of introducing computer Engineering as a department was felt back in 90’s.To serve the growing need of computer specialized manpower, the sanction for starting Computer department was accorded to Govt Polytechnic for Women in year 1993. The new department started functioning and admitted the first batch of Diploma in computer Engineering in the year 1993.

Objectives - The primary objective of the Deptt. of Computer Engg. is to impart a high level of professional education and practical training at par with the international standards of Computer Science.

Ecology and Environment
As per Govt. of India directives, an awareness camp on Ecology and Environment has been incorporated.
Entrepreneurship Development
An Entrepreneurial Awareness Camp and a full subject on Generic Skills and Entrepreneurship Development has been incorporated.
Personality Development
A camp focusing on personality development of students has been incorporated in the curriculum. There will be assessment under SCA.
Student Centred Activities
A provision of 3-4 hrs per week has been made for organizing Student Centred Activities for overall personality development of students. Such activities will comprise of co-curricular activities like extension lectures, library studies, games, hobby clubs e.g. photography, painting, singing, seminars, declamation contests, educational field visits, N.C.C., NSS, Cultural Activities, Civil Defence/ Disaster Management activities etc
